For the past few years, I have enjoyed escaping to Hallock, Minnesota from Grand Forks. This little, rural town is unlike any other. What small town do you know of that has a brewery, a wine bar, AND a distillery?! None!

Far North Spirits is what first brought me to Hallock. When I moved to Grand Forks in 2018, I could not find my go-to gin at the local liquor stores. So on a whim, I tried their Solveig gin, and it’s now my go-to gin. For my 30th birthday, I celebrated at their distillery. After making the drive once, I realized how easy it was and started to making the trip more often. The cocktail menu changes every time I go and I love seeing the new cocktail recipes they come up with.

When summer came around, I got a WDAY golf punch card. There are three golf courses off the I-29 exit for Hallock – Drayton Golf Club, Two Rivers Golf Club (Hallock), and Lancaster Riverside Golf Club. All three are open to the public. Hallock and Lancaster are two of my very favorite courses on the punch card.

Any time I golf off of exit 187, I stop at the wine bar for a charcuterie board, Rev Ale for the food truck that is almost always parked out front (a different one each week), and then finish off with a cocktail at Far North Spirits.

On one of my favorite Saturday dates, Matt and I golfed Lancaster Golf Club then had lunch at the food truck in front of Rev Ale. After we were done eating, we played Two Rivers Golf Club. Then finished off a large charcuterie board with a gin and tonic and finished off with a cocktail at Far North Spirits.

Hallock is not to be missed! If you are in nearby Pembina, Grand Forks, or even Winnipeg – it is worth the trip!
